Things to do at home

We use these recipes in nursery.  They're really easy to make and the ingredients are pretty cheap.

Make your own play dough

(The children enjoy helping you with this recipe.)

In a bowl, mix together:-

4 cups of flour

1 cup of salt

2 tablespoons of paint (If you don't have paint you can use food colouring)

Add

2 tablespoons of oil

2 cups of water

Knead the ingredients together adding more flour or water until you get the desired consistency.

Make your own blowing bubbles

Ingredients

1/2 a cup of washing up liquid

5 cups of water

2 tablespoons of glycerine (avaiilable at the chemist or supermarket, they have it in the chemists in Wilsden for around £2 a bottle)

Mix all the ingredients together carefully, so that you don't get it too bubbly.

The mixture can be used straight away but it is better if left overnight to blend.
