This is the
first site that I have really done for myself, but I thought that I needed
somewhere to keep a log of progress through my hobbies and make some of the
things that I have found available to other like minded people.
My
professional background is electrical & electronic engineering, but
metalwork and mechanisms have always been intriguing to me, these days I make a
living as an oracle DBA in a busy hospital. ( It's a good job with no heavy
lifting ).
It is quite
interesting how one project soon blossoms into several different disciplines
that requires an ever increasing number of tools and skills. How many of you are faced with that cutting
remark of ‘where did that come from, how much was it?', luckily some of the more
esoteric/expensive tools will often fit in a drawer, ( if you end up with a
cincinati mill on your drive - well your on your own ).

My workshop comprises the following:
Clarke combined Lathe/Mill
Chester Champion Mill/Drill ( Round Column )
8"x5" metal cutting bandsaw
18"x32"x5" CNC router ( self built - see CNC projects )
Gas fired metal melting furnace ( self built - see Foundry projects )
Sand molding bench

Please feel
free to browse this site, the online shop doesn't have much in it at the moment
but that should change over time, hopefully
as a means of subsidising other projects. Most of the information is under the 'PROJECTS' link in the main menu.
This
website has been built and maintained through Joomla, a free content management
system that is very flexible to use and setup.
If you want a CMS system, you should take a good long hard look at
Joomla, I love it.
